Nutraceuticals – Pellet Technology

Nutraceuticals are pharmaceutical-grade nutrients that are typically used in dietary supplements and food additives for the consumer market. These products are made from food sources and provide extra health benefits, in addition to the basic nutritional values found in food.

Due to the busy lifestyles of many, dietary supplements are often taken to maintain a healthy lifestyle without spending time working out the nutritional value of the food being eaten.

These generally include the following categories:

  • Vitamins
  • Minerals
  • Herbs
  • Amino acids
  • Enzymes

At Spheratrix, we have a huge amount of experience in the nutraceutical market with a vast product portfolio being utilized in the beauty, sports nutrition and wellness sectors. We offer both instant release pellets for better bio-availability and higher active ingredient absorption rates as well as our new modified release technology.

A modified release is a coating applied to an external surface of a pellet to change its release profile. There are three main coating profiles available, these are;

Sustained-release – A sustained release coating is designed to release an active ingredient at a predetermined rate to maintain a constant dosage concentration for a specific period.

Controlled-release – A controlled release coating delays the release of an active ingredient upon oral administration for it to release at a fixed location.

Extended-release – A extended release coating consists of both sustained-release and controlled-release coatings. This is used to control the release location of the active ingredient and the predetermined rate of release.

We partner with you to develop and produce pellets based on your individual requirements. We have collaborated with many industries leading worldwide entities and institutions over the years and have the required knowledge to know what is and what is not possible.
