Introducing Formula Works: your supplement manufacturer now builds your website

Our clients kept asking us the same question. So we built the answer.
It usually came up somewhere between signing off a formulation and waiting for stock to land. The product was sorted. The label was sorted. And then, almost as an afterthought:
“So who builds the website?”
For years we gave the honest answer. Find an agency. Good luck.
Then we watched what happened next, over and over, and it stopped being funny.
What kept going wrong
We are not going to pretend every agency build is a disaster. Plenty are excellent. But when a generalist web team meets a supplement brand, the same four things kept landing back on our desk.
- Copy we would never have allowed on a label. Health claims written by someone who has never opened the GB nutrition and health claims register. Beautiful writing. Legally indefensible.
- Timelines that outran the manufacturing run. Stock arrived. The site did not. Brands paid to store product they could not sell.
- Discovery calls asking our client what is in their own product. Questions we could have answered in nine seconds, because we made it.
- Sites that looked superb and said nothing true. No ingredient story, no manufacturing credibility, no reason to trust the bottle. Just a nice hero image and a buy button.
The pattern was obvious. The problem was never design talent. It was distance from the product.
So, by popular demand: Formula Works
Formula Works is our new sister company, part of the Supplement Factory group, based with us in Ashford, Kent.
It builds high converting Shopify websites for supplement brands. Live in around four weeks. Claims cleared by our own in house regulatory team. Built by the people who already make what you sell.
Same building. Same group. Same accountability.
Why a generalist agency cannot compete on this
This is not a swipe at web designers. It is a straightforward point about what sits behind the work.
1. They do not know what you are not allowed to say
Supplement marketing is regulated. Claims wording is the single fastest way for a new brand to attract an ASA ruling or a trading standards letter, and the takedown always arrives after you have spent the money on traffic.
A generalist agency writes the boldest sentence they can and hopes. Our regulatory team clears your on site claims and labelling wording before the site goes live. That is not a disclaimer bolted on at the end. It is a licence to market confidently, because someone qualified has already checked.
2. They have to learn your product. We made it.
We hold the formulation. We know the actives, the dosages, the sourcing and the certifications, because they came off our production line.
That removes the slowest, most painful part of a normal website project: the bit where you end up writing your own content because the agency cannot. Your product detail pages get written by people who can read your spec sheet without a translator.
3. They cannot line your launch up with your stock
An external agency does not know when your batch is scheduled. We do, because we are running it.
The site is built to land when the product does. Not five weeks after, while your pallets sit in storage costing you money.
4. They do not know what makes a supplement buyer commit
Selling supplements is not selling trainers. The buyer is sceptical, often for good reason, and they are looking for very specific reassurance: what is actually in it, at what dose, made by whom, tested how.
We build the trust signals that answer those questions, because we spend every day watching which ones close the sale and which ones get ignored.
5. They are not there when you scale
A project agency delivers, invoices and moves on. That is the model, and it is fine for a one off brochure site.
Our commercial interest does not end at launch. We want your second SKU, your third, and the manufacturing run behind them. That makes us cheap to keep and expensive to replace, which is exactly the incentive you want in a long term partner.
